Top Ten Things I am Grateful For

It is always healthy and good to thank God for the abundant blessings he has poured out into our lives. It is also good to periodically tell others what we are most thankful for. So, with no rhyme or reason, in no particular order, here they are:

1. Family and friends.

2. A steady job near family.

3. A great church.

4. A great community group.

5. Life itself.

6. That I live in the United States.

8. That I live in Texas!

9. God's eternal, unchanging word.

10. That God loved me enough to meet my greatest need for righteousness by sending his Son to die in my place. (Hallelujah!)

Bonus blessings...

11. A good imagination and a esire to create.

12. That God is working out all things for my good, even the things I don't like or understand (Romans 8:28-30).

13. That God is at my right hand, sustaining me to the end (Psalm 16:8) even to eternal life with joys and pleasures forever at His right hand (Psalm 16:11).

An open letter to President Obama

Here is part of a letter I e-mailed to the White House. Whether President Obama will ever see it or not, is unlikely, but God is in control.

"Dear President Obama,

As one Christian speaking to another, you know that we all must stand before God one day and be judged for our actions. God's standard does not change with social whims. God did not bend his perfect standard to let us into heaven, but fulfilled it in his only begotten son, Jesus Christ our Lord! Thanks be to God! Let us honor God therefor by upholding righteousness.

I strongly oppose your efforts to make it easy to kill the unborn child by doing away with all the rights the unborn have gained in the last 30 years. This goes against all that is good and decent, and humane. That child has the basic right enjoyed by all Americans, the right to life. He or she is made in the very image of God. I am appalled that you want to deny him or her that right.

I also oppose your effort to give special rights to a group of people based on their practicing of perverted sex. Your comparing perverted sexual behavior with the color of one’s skin is very offensive.

May God bless you and protect you Mr. President. You are always in my prayers."

Now, whether Barak Obama is really a believer or not, I don't know. In fact I highly doubt that he is. He calls himself one so I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt for the sake of this letter. He may just be very misled by bad teaching and biblical illiteracy. If that is the case then my prayer is that the Holy Spirit will convict him and lead him back to the truth. If he is not saved then my prayer is that the Holy Spirit will convict him and lead him to the truth for the first time. All I know is that many of the policies he has outlined so far do not line up with God's revealed will.

I appologize that this entry is not more clever or witty, but I am tired and this is the best I can do late at night.

Inaugural Blog

Hello my fellow Americans (and anyone else on the internet)!

This is an historic day! A new sense of Hope, Change, and Unfounded Good Feelings has dawned upon this great nation. All our problems, pains and economic woes will soon be a thing of the past. Generations have longed for it. Many have dreamed of it. And I know YOU have prayed for it. That's right; I've decided to start a blog!!! Relax, relax. Men, pick up your fainted wives. Ladies stop weeping for joy. I'm only human.

This blog represents the beginning of an era. You can expect to see positive results in your life almost immediately. Improved sight and regrown hair are not uncommon. I will update it regularly. So DO NOT FEAR. I will be back soon.
